Just reading an article which says that the VII was designed with a Parallel Bus system that it inherited from the Citation III. But the Europeans would not certify it so a split bus modification was made on newer aircraft and is available as a retrofit kit.

What is the problem with a Parallel Bus system on the Citation for the European authority?

They prefer their bus systems more perpendicular.

In simple terms a parallel bus system does not comply with the regulation requiring 2 independant power supplies, as a single bus fault could take out both generators.
