Incident: Blue B738 at Birmingham on Jul 28th 2018, suspected tail scrape on departure (http://avherald.com/h?article=4bbb7446&opt=0)

Could it be that some crews are thinking about EU261 claims when assessing the health of their aircraft.
I truly hope this doesn't lead to a tragedy someday.

The B737-800 for TAIL STRIKE states the following:

By continuing the flight (and climbing to altitude), it looks like they failed to follow the QRH... and for which the flightcrew better have a bloody good excuse!

While it's always nice to know what colour the aircraft was, identifying the airline would be more helpful. :O

I don't see how EU261 compensation should factor into their DODAR

Diagnose - Suspected tail strike (possible structural damage, unable to pressurise, required to land at nearest suitable airport)
Options - Gather info on the best suitable airports based on Fuel>Perf>Weather>Distance>Company Facilities
Decide - Choose best airport based on above.
Action - Inform ATC and request diversion to selected airport, inform crew, pax and company time permitting.
Review....

That's how I would of done it anyway
