London: Flypast 100

Yesterday the 100 year celebration of the RAF included a fly-past of 100 aircraft.

Look who leads the display....

As you will see, the "100 formation" was not in the lead

But that was surely because the formation was built up with the slower Rotary wing fleet first, and then the fixed wing A/C following, building up in capability and speed as the parade went on. Personally I thought it was an excellent display in all respects. Must have been a nightmare to oversee and arrange. Very well done!

The AF liaison at the BBC stand commented that they had a 5 second window to be at the right spot at the right time for the speeds to work out and not have any incidents.
