30 hours from an annual, when one cylinder was found to have a compression problem (the one with the CHT probe in). Since this date the CHT gauge has shown a continually higher the normal (higher than previous) normal operating range (half way between the white line and the red line at max cont).

Now, it might just be the unseasonably hot weather, but after 22 years of flying the R44, I’ve never seen a machine fly with that one the gauge and it’s different from the max cont readout prior to 30hrs ago. At less than max cont (say 21”) the needle is one the line. Total hours ~ 300.

Any thoughts on cause? Or indeed cure. O540 carburated engine.
