Has anyone recently used someone other than Freightworks- and submitted for reimbursement?
When did you pay the mover ?- I am assuming as soon as you accept the quote? And how long to get reimbursement- is it on your final pay check?
EK only does direct payment with Freightworks and their quote is quite a bit higher than two others- but I am a bit nervous about paying the mover then relying on EK to get reimbursed.
What has been everyone's experience lately?
Thanks ..

EK is paying. Why worry if Frieghtworks costs more? If they are the only ones that EK will deal directly with, use them and remove any worry you may have about getting your money back.

Cost sometimes equates with Quality. Saving few dollars might not be worth all the broken stuff you'll have after unpacking your boxes. Either one, make sure you get an insurance coverage for the most expensive items you are shipping(lost or damaged).

I went for Freightworks, no hassles , very proper and detailed when packing the things. They quote me the Full Allowance, but I asked for some discount. So, they agreed to cover up to $400 incase my container encounters any unforeseen additional taxes, or fees.

Are we talking about relocating to Dubai to start wih EK or relocating home after resigning?
I was under the impression they only cover the weight of 100kg when commecing work.

And if it's relocating back to UK be careful with insured values. Obviously you don't want to be out of pocket if anything is broken but HM Customs will base their claim on the declared value- even if it's used personal effects.

We spoke to a few people who used Freightworks for local moves, both mentioned that the service wasn't as good as they expected...broken bits etc. We used Crown and so far so good. Crown has one small advantage because its one company throughout the whole move versus sub-contractors at the arrival country. We had priced 3 moving companies, Crown, Freightworks and Allied. All 3 were around the same price and offer the same services. Freightworks is the only one of the 3 that can direct bill with EK. We went with Crown only because it has company offices all over the world. The billing is NO issue whatsoever. Once you sign the acceptance with the moving company, pay the the bill and then submit the originals to the EOSB counter at the ESC. Ek pays the full amount as part of your final settlement. Actually, I have never heard of EK not paying.

Its a non issue.

Its been said many times on the forum, the EOS department is the best run department of the company!
