View Full Version : Getting wet to raise money

Afternoon All,

Tomorrow morning I’ll be swimming 10 kilometres in Alton Water to raise money for the RAF 100 Appeal. As this year is the 100th anniversary of the RAF and 10k is 100x100m, I thought it was an appropriate charity. While I’m not one of “the professionals who fly military hardware” or “the backroom boys and girls who support the flying and maintain the equipment”, there was a time (now a surprisingly long time ago to me) when that was my aim, which is the other reason I chose these charities. If any of you are able either to pass this on to people who you think might throw a fiver (a bargain at 0.05p/metre) at it, or if you’d be willing to do the same yourself, I’d be very grateful.

If anyone else is swimming there tomorrow drop me a PM! (Yes, I know that’s a long shot 😊 ). I’m also visiting RIAT with my kids if anyone wants to hand over cash in person!

The page is (spaces to prevent the link vanishing):

Mods (or anyone else), if you think this isn’t the right place or it’s not appropriate, feel free to move/delete it/tell me to bog off.

Thanks NutLoose!

Swam it, raised about £450, plus about another £100 gift-aid. Thanks to everyone who contributed, still time for a fiver if you haven't :)
