Which countries besides the USA accepts an FAA license? Specially think of UAE and Australia, but also interrested in other countries!

Apparently most UK clubs will let you fly their aircraft with an FAA PPL. May want a check ride though.

In theory...

It is valid in an ICAO country.

But...

Different schools, clubs, employers, etc may view it differently!

Okay, thanks for those answers, but I am thinking about the big licenses like CPL and ATPL.

this is how it has been explained to me previously on this board:

you can fly in any ICAO country in a N-reg aircraft, or aircraft that is registered in that country your attempting to fly in. If it is a N-reg aircraft, then you can fly from one country to the next. If it is a local-country-reg aircraft, then you can only make flights within that country.

UAE will allow you a validation to fly using a FAA Commercial or ATP licence (and medical) for 2 months.

During this time you must pass a written exam (mostly Air Law) for conversion to a UAE licence.

For the UAE this applies to all major licences, JAA, South African, FAA, Australian.
