Just saw this, no further info on their website.

"Join an award winning company!
We will soon accept applications for our cadets positions in our Boeing 737 fleet.
Stay tuned, more info will follow."

Anyone have any inside information?

I think it's been in a state of "we will soon accept appilcations" for like a year now

I interpret that as meaning that they are going to be hiring low hour pilots (already qualified). Wouldn't be a cadet programme.

I completed their online testing last summer, never heard back from them.
I confirm the state "hiring soon" has been broadcast for years.
keeping faith though

That's very strange since I have been checking the website quite actively. Maybe I've missed it before?

At least last time I contacted them earlier this year, there was nothing on the website about it and they also said there were no plans of hiring low hour pilots. If something does end up coming out of it, I hope it's for fATPL pilots and not another MPL course.

No plans of hiring low hour pilots / cadets for the moment. There is a holding pool for NTR with plenty of experience and it's not clear yet when they'll be called up for type rating courses. Only B737 rated pilots for transatlantic ops are being recruited at the moment.

Hi November Sierra,

I presume you haven’t seen the post on LinkedIn from the chief flight deck recruiter at Norwegian or the posting on their own site? At the tail end of last week he stated this..

“Calling all cadets, we will soon open up our recruitment for you to join our growing fleet of modern 737s.

#norwegian #flynorwegian #cadetpilots #pilotsjobs”

I am obviously unaware as to whether you have inside information, however it looks like they may be taking on some cadets in the near future.

cheers

Anyone have any info on this? “Self Sponsored Type Rating” - what’s that all about? Thought we were past that now!

Where are you finding information about this? Can someone post a link please?

On the career page on Norwegians webpage. Can’t post urls cause I haven’t got enough posts on here..

I wrote an an email asking whether it’s a bond or an up front payment, and their answer was:

“At the moment, we can’t provide you with more information regarging the position.
We will upload all the information related to it in our career page when it is available.”

So guess they’re expecting people to apply without knowing the terms or if one has to throw £30k..

Ah ok, thanks. I read all of that but I assumed/hoped you were talking about a cadet programme. I could only see jobs for people who currently hold a license.

The only real cadet programme from zero to hero is through OSM Aviation Academy, I believe was something like 136k euro with 737 TR included.

the last advert of soon hiring cadets is now the one about the self sponsored rating.

Inside source says is around 22k euro.

no idea if is worth a shot to pay upfront with the current Norwegian situation.

i would choose to get it discounted from salary on a monthly basis or even a better a bond.

i believe bond is only given to non rated first officers above 1500 hrs total time.

good luck people !

Hi,

Does anybody have any news about Norwegian's Self Sponsored Pilot Position? I applied and did the 9 online tests, but I am still waiting for an answer.

What exactly do the tests consist of ? how can someone best prepare for them? Are there any available online preparation tests?

Thank you for you help. Much appreciated !

The online assessment is based on Cut-e. There is not much to prepare except if you want to train online, there are some websites that provide this kind of tests.

It is very basic stuff, however, if you are doing them on a laptop make sure to have a mouse. You will need that for the tube test - not sure how I would have coped with just the trackpad.

No answer on my side and I applied and did tests 6 weeks ago. They could at least send pass/fail based on online test...

The job application was open until 15th August so probably we will hear something by beginning of September
