A chum of mine would like to know a bit more about her Uncle. Does anyone know of, or could point me in the way of his service record? Usual fee applies, a beer or two whenevver . . . ;)

Many thanks,

JR

Here is a good starting point ; https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/veterans-uk .
The RAF service records are held at Cranwell and the link above should take you to the relevant form , MOD Form 1694 .

There have been similar requests and I found this one by putting 'service records' into the search box ;
https://www.pprune.org/military-aviation/609521-requesting-info-former-raf-servicemen-my-uncle.html?highlight=service+records .

Good luck !

Derek Blunden enlisted in the RAF as a Halton Apprentice, in 1946. He was a member of the 52nd entry.

In 1965/66 he was the CO of No 37 Sqn. in Aden.

In 1965/66 he was the CO of No 37 Sqn. in Aden.
I recognised the name but wasn´t sure it was the same person.
He did a visit to Majunga where he acquired a tractor for the 37 Sqn. detachment.
