Classic Porpoising. Low time crew or fast asleep on the job? Who was monitoring that landing speed etc etc?

Thankfully no injuries but the FP and PM will have a LOT of explaining to do.

I've done a modest amount of bush flying as pax, on various continents. There's nothing wrong with most bush pilots.

More like: Lost airspeed, altitude and ideas, all at the same time. It's Nepal.

Never seen a Twin Otter porpoise before in my experiences on it. It is so easy to land. But I suppose it can just like an old Cessna. Usually a bit of backpressure works, perhaps add a bit of power if necessary to cushion the subsequent touchdown or go around if it gets bad.....if you can go-around at an airport like that.

If you look at that cabin video carefully, you can see (after about the 4th and heaviest bounce!) the FO firewall the throttle finally making the correct decision to takeover from the useless guy in the left hand seat and try to recover it but it was too late. I think they are all pretty lucky to walk away from this one with no noticeable injuries apart from maybe the old lady the cameraman helps (once he's got his pulitzer winning shot).

Whilst this looks pretty cut and dry pilot error as the aircraft seemed to be handling fine until the flare, it was a horrible video to watch. I was repeatedly shouting GO-AROUND from behind my screen for the duration of the roll/bounce-out!

What a waste of a lovely aircraft.

And the statement says, it happened because of a tire burst. Sure. :}

I had a flat tire on a Twin Otter on landing in SJU years ago: Easy to keep straight with that big rudder and differetinaf braking, but vibration was heavy while we slowed down, felt like the plane was shaking itself to pieces.
Had to stop on the runway and have a bus come pick up the pax.
