Did anyone spot the out of step RAF or RAF Regiment personnel marching immediately after the Royal Marine contingent in the military parade after the Church service ?
Seemed the worst possible time for a misstep as it was caught by the BBC cameras
Another example of defence cuts hitting hard ?

No, just a small mistake--it didn't impact on the day. Don't criticise minutia--why didn't you comment on how great the day was instead of seeking points-scoring?

Just a shame they could not rustle up a couple of Apache gunships. .. to drop off the rings...or was there a no fly zone

I went to the golf course at about 1100, on Saturday, it was very busy, had a problem finding a parking space!

Or having the Sally Anne Brigade at the head of us on the remembrance parade in Basingpoke and the Saint Johns Ambulance or similar following on behind both playing the music at a different beat to each other, those of us in the middle could have qualified for the long jump as we had the hop, skip and jump down to a T.. the SWO was muttering on the prowess of both bands and he wasn't being complimentary, I had never heard both organisations being called a four letter word before... The laughs and giggles were not only coming from those watching the debacle. but some of those amongst us gave up trying to keep a straight face.
Ahhh thank gawd I do not ever have to do that again..... my next parade I should hopefully be horizontal and heading to the pie heater.
Glad the wedding went off OK, though I haven't and do not intend to watch any of it.

i am sure the drill instructor will not see it as minutiae or a small mistake when the drill is reviewed ...
i am not point scoring . I am commenting on the sad fact that the RAF squad made a faux pas on a very public occasion in front of millions of people.

Those watching, not I, only had eyes for the 'happy couple',and the Bishop and the gospel group
But the E Type.... that's a different story

Yawn.. Old duffers shouting their mouths off as usual. The RAF conitigent looks very much like it was a rent a crowd fro local London Units. Propably with little training together. Thats the way of things now. Peopel have forgotten that Prior Planning and Preperation Prevents Poor Performance. The accountants certainly have.

The marching contingent was from RAF Honington, where HRH is Honorary Air Cdre, and is active in that role. I’m sure there was plenty of rehearsal for the contingent (Gunners, RAFP and other trades) because it was shown on TV news (Look East, I think), and you’d expect there to be. No mention of accountants in the reporting though... It could be they disguised themselves with blue sashes. Very cunning, dressing as drill instructors just to screw up a parade; what will they get up to next?.

Very many years ago at CCF camp at Tern Hill the contingent would take its place on the Saturday morning station parade. I was right. All was well until the march past , led unusually by the station commander, but my memory may have dimmed. What no one told us cadets was that parade commander had a wooden leg - name was ISTR Coward or B'stard. It matters not. However, due to said affliction the parade commander had an odd gait, with which station personnel were familiar. We, however, were not, and by the time we finished the marching was all over the place. I have seldom been so embarrassed, our officers were not pleased and the SWO was incandescent, and we had several hours extra drill.
