Strange title, I know.

I'm a pilot who wants to take up an offer to be part of a Cabin Crew Attestation school that unfortunately currently requires all trainers to have been CC in the past. The CAA seems to suggest that 1 single day as qualified CC would fit the bill. Are there any suggestions for an organisation that might be willing, for a fee, to take me through their course so that I could operate for a single day? Obviously the Big companies won't be interested so I thought I might try the CC forum to see if anyone knows of somewhere in the UK (south west?) that could help.
I've been a CRM trainer with a large airline for 15+ years.

There are limited companies, outside of Airline-land, which offer an attestation course... TAG Global Training offer a course, as do Sky People (not recommended) and I think at the moment they are the only two outside of airline training.

A course is 7 days mind, and it can't be broken into anything smaller than that as it is an EASA/CAA regulated course, and you need to have that to then be able to go on to be cabin crew.

I am not sure how much you are wanting to put into this, but I believe that the TAG course is around the £750 mark plus accommodation etc.

I fear it may not be as simple as you desire, to be "Qualified" cabin crew under what EASA and the CAA will view that to be.

Thanks for the reply. The Att course is the easy part and I can get that sorted but then I need to BE a member of CC for a day, which is not so straight forward.

Ok, yes... I get what you are saying.

It will indeed be difficult as there is of course, then the company specific training and assessments etc. to allow you to operate as cabin crew...

Hmm... Quite a quandary.

If your present company does not just handle freight, might they be more sympathetic to you working as CC for a day ... at least you would have a foot in the door already?

I would try some of the northern/eastern Europe medium sized operators. Or UK Loganair / Eastern airways.

From what I have seen of our cabin crew you might be in for a bit of a shock with the training being a pilot if you going to do the full monty And to do a solo day your going to have to do the line training as well.

Actually.. AIS in the NL run CC on their JS32's in Sweden which will just be shut the doors do the safety brief and put up with the noise, no service to be bothered with.

Slightly late, but I've now been told by the CAA Ops Inspector that the rule about having to have been active CC is a typo. Thanks, mate!:ugh:

I must admit I was surprised at your post mainly due to having signed 4 cabin crew off as trainers just on the back of being a line training Captain.

I have zero clue about the cabin crew function apart from appreciate a cup of tea occasionally. But my signature was all that was required. Did have one CP who trained 10 of them of them and he had operated single crew for most of his time out the RAF and when he was in he was FJ,

To be fair absolutely nothing went wrong in 3 years , Next company had a proper empire cabin crew setup.... and it was weekly something happened or hand bags got thrown out the pram....

British Airways offer a cabin crew experience programme so you could do that for a while and then you’d have more than one days experience
