I've done a search but can't find exactly what I'm looking for, so hoping someone who has rented recently in the USA might be able to answer my question.

I've found AOPA and Avemco for renter's insurance but both only offer annual policies. I'm looking for a policy for a short duration - only need it for about a week. Has anyone come across such a policy?

Thanks in advance.

If you cancel the policy Avemco will issue a refund for unused months up to a maximum of six. AOPA might do likewise. If you want to cover yourself while piloting then try Traffords (UK) which will cover private flying on request.

Buy it anyways, and cancel when you are done. Flying in the States is sooooo cheap, that it is still worth it. The more you fly the cheaper per hour :) . Heavens forbid that you need it and don‘t have it. The Yankee laywers will take you and yours to the cleaners!
