Doing some research, what's the time to command at the moment on your fleet?

Anything from six months to twenty years depending on the fleet!

My airline operates the A320 family and it’s minimum 2 years in the company, 4000 hours total and 2000 hours on JAR 25 aircraft... Pretty fast! = )

I'm curious to know why you ask the question.

If it is to decide which airline to work for, then I think this question should be one of many questions asked.

In isolation, time to command means very little, it is a very small snapshot of a very big picture.

Of course, you actually have to be up to the job, too...

easyJet A319/A320 soon to include A321. Minimum time is 5 years, 3500 hours (easyjet factored). Average time is 5.5-6 years.

FO's that have joined from a TP operator with plenty of hours took around 3 years.

BA A320 at LGW is going as low as just under three years this year.

In TUI (Thomson) it has been around 10-15 years. It looks like that will drop down to about 4 years though for those to be upgraded in time for summer 2019.

The aviation industry is going through the best of times and 4 years to command in TUI is about as good as it gets! If you remember that the airline industry is notoriously cyclical then those joining mature airlines like TUI now, may we’ll be joining at the top of the wave and end up waiting a long, long time before their turn comes around. I know - it happened to me!🛫

Swiss Int Air Lines, somewhere between 10 and 13 years for a short haul command atm.

How long does it take to upgrade in easyJet if you join as a SFO?

Still 3 years or so. You have to work through all the same phases as any other FO applying for command.

It can depend on basing too. If you have all the requirements hours wise when you join then it can be 18 months.

How it is with WIZZAIR and WOW Air?

No wait at Wizz Air, provided you have the hour, the only wait is for them to schedule you in for the course.
