MADRID — Pilots at Spanish low-cost airline Vueling plan to go on strike for four days in April and May in a dispute over contracts, national pilots union SEPLA said on Thursday.

The pilots will walk out for 24 hours on April 25 and 26, and May 3 and 4, SEPLA said in a statement on its website.

A SEPLA spokeswoman said the pilots alleged the company was not fulfilling conditions of their employment agreements.

Vueling, operated by IAG, had no immediate comment.

Well their app certainly commented, all by itself, complete with apology! Luckily I was flying with them today. But, best of luck to them.

Vueling pilots are striking for a number of reasons, tomorrow and Thursday

Vueling pilots have made many sacrifices in the past.

1) Incumpliance of their current collective bargaining agreement.

2) Differences in their next collective bargaining agreement negotiations
Very little offered by the company for a Vueling pilot to retire. No real pension plan.

FOs at Vueling making 2300-2400 Euros a month, SEPLA wants to significantly improve FOs conditions.

Vueling has recently lost a lot of pilots, to many companies like Easyjet and Easyjet. Meanwhile Vueling has has trouble finding experienced pilots.

3) Differences in Vueling´s expansion plans in Italy and France.
Vueling´s management does not wish to work together with SEPLA :ugh:

Time for IAG and Vueling´s management to wake up, pay market price, for Vueling´s pilots, or Vueling will have a pilot shortage, soon.

It gets worse. Pilots in Air Europa Express can earn as low as 500 euros a month during the off-season as seen in the Spanish forum (https://www.pprune.org/spanish-forum/607518-air-europa-express-2.html#post10126686).
