No. 83 (St Georges) Sqn Air Training Corps will be celebrating their 10th anniversary later this year. They would like to build up a history of "big 83", so if anyone here served and has stories, memorabilia or anything else that might be useful to them, please pm me with a contact email, and I'll pass it on to the CO.

Of interest 83 is recorded as having the youngest recipient of the VC in WWII. Sgt John Hannah was awarded it for actions on 15th Sep 1940 while acting as WOP/AG in a Hampden over Antwerp. He was 18 at the time.

Yes, looks a bit strange time wise - or is it me?

I say again. No 83 (St Georges) Sqn AIR TRAINING CORPS will be celebrating their 10th anniversary. Sgt Hannah was a member of "big" 83. i.e. 83 Sqn ROYAL AIR FORCE.

Herod, I assume you have a copy of 'Enemy Coast Ahead' detailing Guy Gibson's time on 83 Sqn?

(Incidentally I was on 83 EAG, but you don't want to know about that...):8

Training Risky.

Thanks. I have it somewhere. It's not my ATC Sqn. I'm involved with the RAFA, and was just talking to OC 83, when he mentioned their anniversary coming up, and the fact they were looking for stories, memorabilia etc. I merely said that since I come on this forum quite (too?) frequently, I would put a post up for him.
