Of course it will have the black dog.. The N word was used multiple times in "12 years a slave"..

I was a bit confused by the title. I saw the film when it first came out and I’m not over 75. Then I realised the 75 refers to the date of the raid. ;)

Growing up in the 50s, we had family friends whose black Lab had the obvious name. Nobody thought anything of it. Times change.

There is a similar film - "Doolittle's Raiders: A Final Toast" - naturally regarding Doolittle's famous B-25 raid on Tokyo.
Very emotional - I was in tears by the time it was over - the sort of thing I wish I could have watched with my dad (he fought in the South Pacific starting at Guadalcanal in 1942, New Guinea, Philippines, ended up being part of the occupation force in Japan after the surrender, passed away in 1990).
I watched it on Amazon Prime a few months back - not sure if it's still on there...

A sobering thought we talk to the visitors at IWM Duxford about when showing them our magnificent Lancaster.

On Op Chastise the aircraft were flying at 60 feet over water at night during the attack on the dams. The access gantry in AirSpace where our Lancaster lives, is 62 feet above the floor......

It does get a few gasps that one. An incredible bit of flying.

The Major in Fawlty Towers wasn't exactly PC but even the BEEB didn't edit this:

Watch for the dog at the end. When Gibson is talking to Barnes-Wallis, a black dog crosses in the background. I believe the film crew were adamant there was no dog on set.

It's like an obsession with some people. Shame really as every time this subject comes up the true heroics of the time get lost in a sea of faux anti-pc noise.
