At around 2pm on Sunday 1 April (Easter Sunday) I briefly saw a formation of 12+ biplane aircraft over Clophill, Bedfordshire. My initial thought was that these must have been taking part in an RAF Centenary celebration - probably at Old Warden. However, the Shuttleworth website suggest nothing was scheduled for that day, and I've been unable to satisfy my curiousity anywhere else.

Can someone please put me out of my misery and prove I wasn't dreaming? Unfortunately, the aircraft were too far away and too low to get any idea of what they were!

Just a guess......(could be wrong!!!). de Havilland Moth Club Diamond Nine. Likely operating out of Henlow.

Not biplanes, but there was a formation of 12 Chipmunks, Pups and Bulldogs (plus another Chippy acting as camera ship) operating in the Bedfordshire area on the day in question. I saw them from my house near Bedford; they were heading south to pass overhead Cranfield on their way back to Henlow. Radio callsign was "Century Formation".
