iMac Password Retention

For some reason my iMac is not retaining usernames, passwords etc any advice welcome

Appreciate risks etc but machine is sole use and am finding it a real pain to dig out account numbers etc everytime I log on

Have selected Safari - Preferences - Autofill and confirmed all options selected

Help please
