The European Commission has appointed Ricardo Energy & Environment to undertake a fact-finding study on the employment and working conditions of aircrews in the EU internal aviation market. The study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the different forms of employment of aircrews (including atypical forms of employment) and establish their impact on working conditions. It covers topics such as the use of temporary agency work, self-employment and pay-to-fly schemes and impacts on gender equality and work-life balance. Please see the attached letter of support from the European Commission for further information.
To support the analysis, Ricardo is consulting with all key stakeholders in the aviation sector. The consultants invite pilots to share their views on these issues by completing an online survey questionnaire designed for pilots working for EEA-licensed airlines operating in the European Economic Area (EEA) and beyond. The online survey can be accessed and completed here:

Please note that the survey will run for 6 weeks. The deadline for responses is on Monday 7th May 2018.
