Australian pilots and engineers touring to PNG, Middle East, etc might be interested in a change to the Australian tax laws commencing 17th July. I have placed a copy of the new law on the Dunnunda and Godzone forum. Basically if you spend more than a sixth of the year in Australia you may be liable for Australian tax.

Most Middle Eastern companies file ATO letters directly into the waste basket. It would difficult to prove a case without assistance from the employer.
