Hi,

Can someone please explain how these two are interlinked?

Does EBT for part of an ATQP program?

Thanks

Hi,
EBT is a progression from ATQP (or AQP) using a different framework.
ATQP requires an airline to do a considerable amount of analysis and instructional design based on its own data. It was a step forward from “one size fits all” prescriptive cyclic recurrent training programs prescribed by regulators, but the resources involved in terms of data analysis and IDS development put ATQP / AQP outside the reach of many airlines.
An EBT baseline program allows an airline to use global data for their particular aircraft generation / type. Info available (free) from ICAO, IATA and the EBT Foundation.
E.g. https://www.iata.org/whatwedo/ops-infra/training-licensing/Documents/ebt-implementation-guide.pdf
As the program matures, an airline can progressively enhance its baseline program by steadily incorporating validated data from its own training and operations.
The biggest change I have seen in an airline in that implements EBT is that it takes the focus of recurrent simulator training away from checking and puts it on genuine training.

EYZ, just seen in the Halldale advert email for the WATS conference next week where there is an there is an EBT seminar. A bit far from Oz but I see there is also one planned for the PACDEFF conference in Sydney later in November.
