I am a UK resident who is looking at getting a CPL/ATPL abroad (to save money). It seems that going to the USA is the No. 1 choice destination. Is this true?

Is there some kind of a league table for the best pilot schools anywhere? Where is the best place to go??

Cheers,
Richard

I am currently in the same boat. I am rapidly approaching the conclusion of my PPL in the UK. I am then taking the big step of finishing work and pursuing ATPL, CPL/IR full time.

My first choice was the US, however, with recent events and visa alterations I am looking at alternatives. There are some really interesting looking South African schools, cheap deals, weak Rand. You're probably better e-mailing me for further details if you like or just search the web.

My take on it is that if you are going to train, then why not do it in a foreign climate and make it a real experience as well?

good luck.
