I was hoping somebody could shed some light on the new requirements that are supposedly coming into effect in April 2018 to have a UPRT course complete prior to commencing a type rating.
Does anyone have any specific information that suggests it will be required? It has been agreed that there will be 'an additional transition period until 8 April 2019 to implement these UPRT provisions' but does this mean until then there is no requirement? There doesn't seem to be any specific info other than proposals at this stage.
Approaching the point of booking an MCC/JOC it begs the question should I look into completing the UPRT before I start applying for a job or is it just an unnecessary expense at this stage?
