Strange music for a Chinese military video; very unmilitaristic, serene and saccharine. At times almost Hawaiian....

Better than the soundtrack to most defense-related promo videos, which resembles the audio content of movies where the most complex dialog is "I'm here to clean the pool".

So are those C-17's the fighters are intercepting in the closing still image?

No, they're Xi'an Y-20s, China's version of the C-17...

Nice looking jet. Also like the understated soundtrack.

Nicely understated. Shazam identifies it as "I love you, China", which has strong patriotic verses in the sung version https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Love_You,_China

No, I'll go with 'Danny Boy' as said earlier.

That's what I figured. Interestingly, the Y-20 is in the same class as the A400, and the Chinese decided to go with turbofans rather than turboprops, even though they had access to the world's most powerful turboprops. I'm wondering if Airbus is regretting their decision to go with turboprops.

Watching this, I had an urge to buy a Hovis loaf.
