In the Sep. 26 issue of the Wall Street Journal, there was an article about US airline's envoking the "force majeure" clause to circumvent labor contract provisions.

The article stated that unions were pushing a bill that would bar airlines from using the force majeure clause. The article stated that the bill would be acted on within the week.

Since then, I haven't heard anything about it. Is the bill dead? Was it part of the Displaced Workers Assistance act, or was it seperate legislation? I can't find any information on this, and I'm not getting any answers from my ALPA reps.
