I have a reasonably fast desk top computer normally. But over recent months Pprune seems to have become much slower in operation than I have experienced before. Often it takes 1.5 minutes or more to switch to another forum or when using the back button. Are other Ppruner readers experiencing similar delays?

If it's taking 1.5 minutes to load a new page...major problems somewhere. Have you run a download speed test on your internet connection? Does this only happen on PPRuNe?

Just google for free speed test site.

As a first cut install an ad blocker or use the Opera browser.

For some reason unknown to me ;-) pprune is lightening fast here. I use my mobile phone for my internet so speed is not great.

Not so terrible either :-)

According to http://www.speedtest.net
PING 58 ms
DOWNLOAD 8.20 Mbps
UPLOAD 1.54 Mbps

Thanks for the replies. I use Australian www.telstra.com (http://www.telstra.com) and browser Internet Explorer.
The speed test was well above average during investigation
Rang their tech contact people and as expected got an SE Asia overseas call operator.
He led me through a series of acrobatic arse over head actions including the unplugging and re-plugging of modem and other various wall plugs. His recommendations worked perfectly and my problems with perceived slow internet connection vanished after about ten minutes . Pity about bashing my ancient knees while crawling under tables trying to locate wall plugs. Once again, thanks to all of you who were good enough to reply:ok:
