I'm going on an interview for a c/a job with Falcon Air next week. Yeah!!! Therefore I'm really interested in any info on the company, their destinations, their crew, etc. I've been studying their websites, their page on Scanair, etc, but would like to hear some more details from you folks if possible! Anything will be appreciated!;) :)

Hi Marianne!
Falcon Air is a wholly owned subsidary to the Swedish Postal Service. This means that they fly postal flights during the night on domestic routes and carry out passanger operations during the day. Nowadays I believe it´s mostly charter flights bound for the Med. Mallorca, Greece, Bulgaria and maybe some other destination. They´re head office and hangars is located at Malmo/Sturup Airport (MMX).

The reason why Falcon is recruiting at the moment is that they´re hired by Skyways to fly ARN-Skelleftea when SAS leave the route later this year. Falcon will fly the morning/night flights when there are more passangers. Skyways will take care of the other flights with smaller aircrafts when there are less passangers.

This brings us to the aircraft. The fleet consists of three Boeing 737-300QC made 1991, SE-DPA (Aftonfalken), SE-DPB (Pilgrimsfalken) and SE-DPC (Tornfalken). QC stands for Quick Change. It means that the aircrafts can be switched from passanger aircraft to cargo aircraft by ground crew in approxemately 30 min (and vice verse).

Falcon also haven an extensive Tech Op. They´re approved by JAR-OPS145 to carry out Line Maintenance, A-Check and B-Check on Boeing 737-300-800. Line Maintenance and Technical Service is done on Sturup for Novair, Sterling and Brittania.

Falco was the first passanger airline to be ISO9001 certified and the first airline (all cathegories) to be ISO14001 certified. Hope you got what you wanted.

Thanks for nice feedback.

I am really looking forward to the interview with Falcon Air since it means a possibility. However, I'm well aware of the hard competecion, so I don't dare to hope for any positive result... At least it will give me interview experience. I might need it the next day when I'm having another interview in London with British Midland (31st of July). Regarding Transair I did apply to them a couple of weeks ago, and they too sound attractive to work for. I've also sent my application to some other 20 companies, mostly based in Scandinavia. Too bad only a few are recruiting these days, but am I living in the HOPE:rolleyes: . Once again, thanks for the support and good tips each and everyone of you!:)

Having worked for British Midland I have a fair knowledge of how they treat their crew, and I wouldn't recommend it if you are used to scandinavian "working standards" where an employee is worth a damn.
Good luck though. Might be a good first step.....

Marianne,

I'm happy to say that I made it through the first round with Falcon Air :) and that I'm soon having the final interview session with them. Regarding BMI I never got to them on time because of a whole lot of delays on the British railway and underground. I guess it was never meant to be... and I'm not disappointed because I think you're right Kads about their working standards (we are known for working it better out in Scandinavia...). Wouldn't that apply to Astraues too?

Viva Falcon Air...!
