Delta employees received $1.1 billion in 2015 (http://www.businessinsider.com/delta-airlines-11-billion-profit-sharing-2015-2?utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=referral), $1.5 billion 2016 (http://www.businessinsider.com/delta-air-lines-is-giving-its-employees-a-15-billion-reward-2016-2?utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=referral), and another $1.1 billion in 2017 (http://www.businessinsider.com/delta-air-lines-profit-sharing-11-billion-reward-2017-2?utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=referral).
The airline has paid out more than $5 billion in profit sharing over the past half decade.
In January, Delta reported $3.6 billion in profits for 2017, down 18% from the $4.4 billion the airline made in 2016.
According to Delta, total annual compensation at the airline has increased by 80% since 2008. This includes a 6% raise in base pay (http://www.businessinsider.com/delta-airline-employee-pay-raise-2016-11?utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=referral) in 2017 and an 18.5% raise in 2015.

But Anna says there is no plan to increase our compensation? Please remember to turn out the lights when its all over...

I don't quite understand that last bit. What's a "raise in base pay". Is that something to do with lowering pilot compensation? Confused.

Nope, the base pay raise went to the flight attendants and ground pounders who are non-union.

Delta's pilots are members of ALPA, have a CBA, collective bargaining agreement, i.e. a contract that defines their compensation.

The Deltoids are picking high cotton with their latest pilot contract :ok: :

Delta pilots get 30 percent raise by 2019 in new contract

December 1, 2016

Allison Lampert, Jeffrey Dastin

MONTREAL/NEW YORK (Reuters) - Delta Air Lines Inc (DAL.N) pilots on Thursday agreed to a new contract that delivers a 30 percent pay raise by 2019, as the aviation industry deals with mounting demand for higher wages to fly planes at a time of big profits.

Delta’s pilots last year rejected a tentative contract deal that would have increased wages but cut profit sharing in certain cases. The new contract, backed by 82 percent of pilots at the No. 2 U.S. airline by traffic who voted on ratification, keeps existing gains on profit sharing, according to Delta’s unit of the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA).

The Delta contract, a four-year deal retroactive to the beginning of this year, could have a snowball effect for higher pay in the industry when the next round of bargaining between pilots and top U.S. airlines gets underway in 2019.

United Continental Holdings Inc (UAL.N) pilots, who approved a 19 percent raise in a deal reached earlier this year, will get an extra bump to match Delta’s gains thanks to a clause in their current contract.

The deal with Delta’s 13,000 pilots raises their pay by 18 percent immediately and a cumulative 30 percent by Jan. 1, 2019. For instance, a Boeing Co (BA.N) 737 captain of 12 years would see wages rise to $284.01 per hour in 2019 from $218.15 in 2015.

“The new pilot agreement contains an industry-leading package of pay, benefits and work rules,” Delta said in a statement.

This year's Delta pilot pay rates here:

https://www.airlinepilotcentral.com/airlines/legacy/delta_air_lines

And, for any of you old enough to remember work rules, the Delta pilots usually get paid for more hours than they actually fly through things like trip rigs, duty rigs and minimum pay per duty period.

And on top of all that, they still get the profit sharing which makes the less fortunate pilots jealous (see the article linked below) :{ :

For Delta pilots, the best paid line employees at any airline, this results in quite a sizable payout. According to union figures, based on 2017 earnings and profit-sharing numbers, Delta captains will receive a whopping $29,000 to $59,000, depending on tenure.

Our “mangers” just don’t respond until the operation is affected.

NOTHING will change until there’s a line outside her office with letters of resignation. Not 1, or 2, or even 5 a week need to leave. Try 50 or thereabouts.

Only when these incompetent “management” imports see their bonuses disappearing will they react.

CX’s only salvation lies in the immediate dismissal of all these Sw1re apprentices and sweeping changes to our product and the interaction with the employees and customers.
