Pacific Oceanic clearance procedure?

OK...rookie question but I honestly don’t know the answer. I suppose I could start digging through the manuals but thought I would ask here first.

All of my many, many trips to Hawaii have departed from coastal airports so this question has not come up...until now.

The leg is, say, KDAL-PHKO...what is the procedure to pick up the Oceanic Clearance? On the ground at KDAL? Prior to the Pacific Oceanic gateway like Atlantic ops? We are CPDLC equipped.

Anyone?

There is no oceanic clearance to Hawaii, just your airways clearance out of KDAL. The Atlantic NATS, oops, High Level Airspace, is one of a kind, sui generis.

The various airways out there are fixed, not custom, but you’ll hear “A” track or “B” track; just means all the waypoints begin with the letter.
