In the SCMP:
How a disgraced United Airlines chief influenced Cathay Pacific?s decision to forgo a budget airline | South China Morning Post (http://www.scmp.com/news/hong-kong/economy/article/2133042/how-disgraced-united-airlines-chief-influenced-cathay)

Do not CX employees take an online course every year regarding the prohibition of discussing with or sharing company issues or "plans" with "any" non-company persons or executives ?

Appears the lessons we get rammed down our throats do not apply to the elites on the 9th floor or, is discussing to possibility of starting a LCC with the Chief Executive of a competing airline not applicable under this CX policy ?

We report, you decide.

I have met and spoken with JS on several occasions. A rather odd, strangely empty man who has demonstrated his incompetence over many years now. Just take a look at the share price as one small piece of evidence of this. The Swire family should be ashamed at their countenance of making their fortune on the backs of relatively low paid and hard working individuals. There is not a decent man-manager in sight at CX, and that is why it is crumbling. None of them deserve an ounce of respect. I have no doubt that many other credible managers at their competitors sit and marvel at the sheer level of turmoil they see within CX. A tragedy dressed up as farce.

I also hope that DHS busts his balls every time he goes back to the USA. Cravenly giving up your birthright citizenship to obsequiously curry favour with the mainland Govt. Says everything about the shallow morality of the man.

Trafalgar, I have a different take, I think the spartan existence we have at CX is the marvel of the industry, any airline managers wet dream. We still don’t bid on our roster, that’s unheard of. When I share that with pilots or cabin crew outside CX who enjoy the industry norm, jaws drop and the disbelief continues on from there when you introduce your industry peers to this thing called a “Selection Panel.” From there you can continue blowing minds sharing other aspects of CX life. We really are a spectacle with work rules and working agreements that are a throwback from round engine days. We really should just wear our headsets over our hats and complete the picture. The place is a reenactment of the industry in the 30’s, your an instant hoot and curiosity in any group of airline employees outside CX informing on this place.

Unfortunately Vtwin, the joke is on us, and our families....and it really isn't that funny anymore. When the explosion finally happens in this airline it will be epic.

Yup Trafalgar, we get all the responsibilities and they get their privilege. It is always on us.

So Eurowings will be a total failure then for Lufthansa ?

No but at pay rates 30% below Lufthansa it is a failure for the pilots
