Dear ppruners,

Since everyone keep telling that pilot training in South Africa is very cheap, affordable,etc....

So how much does it actually cost...say for a CPL MEIR over in South Africa??

And which flying school gives the cheapest flying lesson and aircrafty rental???

Please kindly advice me...

thank you.

Flight training in South Africa is indeed affordable and of a high quality. I suggest you do a search under the African forum and you will find lots of information on all the different schools.

I did my CPL/ME/IR there during the year 2000, all in all it cost me R180,000 which at the time worked out to 18,000 pounds-ish. But do enquire about the present rates as they will have gone up - then again the exchange rate will have gone down!

Have a look at www.43airschool.com, it is one of the better schools in the country.

Good luck
CM
