I'm coming to the end of work on a book on the history of Aurigny (about which I have posted on this forum before: apologies for spam) and am currently trying to fill up some of the gaps in its content. I have tried to be quite specific about the dates which given routes were begun and ceased. Below is a list which represents my knowledge so far, in order of date of inauguration and split up by decade to make it less dense. Any contributions where there are question marks would be gratefully appreciated and attributed appropriately in the text.

You can add Alderney to Bournemouth in the summer of 1991. GR421 Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon (+ Wed in peak times) ACI 11.40, BOU 12.15; and GR422 BOU 12.30; ACI 13.05

I have a few 1990s timetables - let me know if you want scanned copies

Jersey - Cherbourg - Southampton certainly ran for one summer in the late nineties, and Guernsey (maybe Jersey) - St Brieuc was a route for several years in the 70's. During the reign of the Saab there was a route to Caen for a couple of seasons - as you mention, but I am 99.9% certain that this was from Jersey. Sorry. Don't know dates.

AUR operated Jersey to Caen, & it only lasted for a short while. This route was really a non-starter & was occasioned largely due to political pressure for an air link to a partner city in Normandy. There was no intrinsic demand for it, & it packed up within two years, I am afraid. I am certain that only the BN3 operated this route, & there was no route from Guernsey.

The States of Jersey opened a tourist office in Downtown Metropolitan Caen, and the service opened to coincide with that and lasted just as long as the tourist office. That suggests to me that there may have been a financial arrangement between the States and Aurigny - but that is purely conjecture on my part - I have absolutely no knowledge of any such arrangement.

During the time that there were flights to Cherbourg from the Islands, I never once saw any advertising in the local French papers in the Cotentin. However, La Presse de la Manche and Ouest France both carried prominent frequent advertising for the Caen - Jersey link. Make what you will of that . . .

Sorry for my delay in posting again but your replies are all greatly appreciated, particularly the clarification re Caen ops. Any further info, particularly on Granville or with any other info, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again all.

Re Gr SOU-CER I am almost certain that Aurigny tried the route a second time some years after they gave up the first, if my memory serves me rightly the second effort lasted only a very short time but I can't recall dates. Aurigny's first station manager at SOU was Mick McCormick but Maurice Wyatt served in that role for many years and was the longest serving member of staff in Aurigny when he retired a few years ago. Other Aurigny staff at SOU in the eraly years included Steve bailey, Jon Horne and Steve Loveridge, the last two continuing to work in aviation.

Great stuff - and in more recent times the airline has routes to Malaga Spain and the Palma & Ibiza Balearic islands (plus other Holiday charters FAO OPO BIO MAH PMI IIRC) + the GNB Ski flights.
