To appreciate the complete delusion and disconnect from reality that this management has, one only has to read the latest DFO update. It starts off by stating "we are looking forward to sharing the Employment Engagement survey". Are they seriously kidding me? I'm sure they are looking forward to sharing results that in any other large organisation would have resulted in wholesale firing of the responsible management. She then goes on to mention the 'clear message' they have received. Guess what AT, you and your incompetent management have been receiving 'clear messages' for several years now, all ignored. How many letter from the C and T members have you willfully ignored, to the detriment of safety? How many complaints about rostering, fatigue and seniority issues? I could go on, but why bother. You are conducting a charade, you know it and we know it. Everything you say is for the consumption of the ground, office and cabin staff, so that you can eventually say to them that you were 'listening' to the pilots but ultimately had to act. You have NO intention of addressing the real issues, because they would decrease your personal bonuses. You speak of 'hard decisions' to be made, never once considering that those decisions should be to accept that your Flt Ops budget has to increase, as housing, pension and salaries are falling behind the industry, not 'benchmarked' higher. You say that employees 'understand the need for change'. Yes, we do, just not the change you have in mind. You and your fellow managers are creating an unstoppable exodus of qualified and talented pilots. Because you are not a pilot, you have NO understanding of our concerns or issues. We are simply a balance sheet entry to you, without any appreciation for our career expectations and our living expectations. I can assure you that to continue with your current planned strategy will result in chaos and disaster. There is not a flight I do without a crew member telling me they are actively planning their change of employer. If you think that hyperbole, then you are more deluded than I currently believe. You have no credibility, no understanding of the majority of your departments employees, and certainly no understanding of the wreckage you will be leaving behind (but of course, why should you care, onwards to your next Swire posting). We are the true stakeholders in the airline, and we demand that you recognise that. Your weekly distortion and outright willful ignoring of the real issues just demonstrates to all of us how unsuitable you are in your current position. Hopefully someone in London will realise this before it's too late (and it might already be fyi). Soon there will not be the pilots employed to operate the schedule, and you will find the company's soiled reputation has created a barrier to hiring the experience you need to keep a safe and integral operation. But you know that, and are obviously hoping to be out of here when the real (censored) hits the fan. Disgrace.
