Just got a shambles of a February roster (middle bid) since I was “specially selected” to serve a week of reserve in my non reserve month , resulting of course in my bid preferences being discarded.

As this is my first time to experience this in my decade at EK I was just curious how common this practice is. Has it been going on forever and I’ve been lucky or is it a relatively new thing? Seems odd with so many aircraft parked and loads of regular reserves that this should be required.

Anyway just want to get a feel for this “new to me” situation so I don’t summer on it too much. Thoughts?

Happened for last few years on the 330/340 fleet...along with a reserve month every five months instead of ten.

Week of Reserve at EK - how common?

Hugely uncommon. Stop stiring, its bad for morale.

Not as uncommon as you think - exactly the same thing with me for the Feb roster, a week of RES plus 58 hours and nothing I bid for.
