Though sadly it won't be the famous RAF Doggerbank, home of the RAF's largest Lightning fleet.

Correct me if I am wrong, but that IS a runway.

Either it’s a small runway or this turbines are very large....

With demonstrated turbulence downwind, I am not sure I would fancy landing there!

Was RAF Limasol Bay the second biggest Lightning base?

On the OP, wonder what the environmentalists have to say. I know the undersea cable plan for the Wash had to avoid cold water coral beds.

If it is transmitting 30 GW of power DC it will have to be ten foot high.

FED, it was for two parallel trenches, each 1 metre wide and as deep. Power iron 576Mw.

It will be good for fishing. Like oil pipelines it will warm the sea bed and act as a magnet for sea bed creatures who will in turn be followed by fish to gobble them up.

The PRC's PWD will build it all for half the price in a quarter of the time. Might have to wait till they've all done at Scarborough. Could piggy back the job with Bradwell. Or quicker alternative site for Hualong-1.
