LHR - UAE29 Crossed the threshold then did a slight south turn and a go around, back on approach now, landed now used a lot of runway compared to usual.

Something on the runaway 1st time in?

Just landed and did a go around at LHR, back on approach now

Landed AND did a go around?

Make your mind up...

Would we dare to call it some touch and go?

this one shows it diverting at the threshold (just after the Great west south road)

Although not particularly newsworthy (there are around 600 go-arounds at LHR each year), there were four consecutive GAs on 27L today, after BA1327 from NCL had landed, before landings were briefly swapped to 27R.

ok not a plane driver, so finer points of terminology may be incorrect, It appeared to have crossed the threshold so may have touched down with mains, so shd I say it was attempting to land.

btw when does a contact with the runway become a landing , when all wheels on the ground or when it has safely cleared the runway.

Thanks Dave, so it appears my something on the runway may have been BA1327 related.

Where was UAE29 in the sequence of 4?

Where was UAE29 in the sequence of 4?

1) BA573
2) LH2474
3) TP372
4) EK029

Followed by BA697 which was established on the 27L ILS but was swapped to 27R along with the four following arrivals. In total, 27L was out of action for 15 minutes.

The Emirates didn't get below about 500' AAL, so no runway contact.

thank you. Son says he just saw the ground through cloud/clag guessed abt 3-500 ft, when they announced the go round bcos runway was not clear.

McDoo: Having read the OP's original post a couple of times, I am having difficulty finding where he said "landed AND did a go around". Show us where. or apologise to the OP.

Bear in mind I also love pink gummybears! :=

so you could have the scenario with someone quoting something bogus :)

No, only an idiot would set out to do that.

The OP edited his post to add an image. How does that affect his words?

that is the reason he stated for the edit.

the strange wording "landed and did a go around" was indeed present before the edit.
