EK261 A380 eng 1 fail this morning after lift off... full pax, fuel and cargo... fuel dumping and return to Dxb. Any news?

Well, with the BA 744 engine fail on take-off out of Phoenix last night I definitely go thumbs up for the big quads!:ok::ok: Far less 'ring' factor:D and good job by both the EK and BA crews!

If it was a twin. Engines 2 and 3 (effectively) were still running and it would have continued on to destination as normal. 😜

I didn’t know you could fit a light twin in an A380s hold🤔

Yep, nice ATC comms on the PHX air turnback video. They kept the information flowing, had the usual clarifications (Americans are not too familiar with fuel in tonnes for example) and got the job done. :ok:
