One of the flight tracking websites has BA0198 diverting to Azerbaijan. And it seems confirmed on the BA website itself which is reporting the flight as 'diverted'. Any one any ideas as to why?

Times of India suggests technical diversion possibly related to "smoke in cabin." Take it for what its worth.

Interestingly the scheduled BA flight from Beirut to London was cancelled due to the snow at the destination and the aircraft subsequently positioned empty to Baku to perform a rescue flight for (some of) the passengers.
