Not only do you get to work for an appalling employer, but you get to kill yourself doing so. The job at CX is particularly set up to result in this outcome. The increasing incidence of serious illness amongst our crew is evidence of this fact. It just keeps getting better....

There's a few guys leaving KA and the message from a HKG AME was good for you, you'll live longer ! Now they aren't retiring, they will continue flying, so the message is pretty clear about the local rostering practices, work and environmental stress, even in a regional and short-haul environment.

Now you add a captain shortage and rumours of more CX flying coming KA's way, probable contract compliance, job stress due delays and inexperienced co-pilots, a new computer system which in the first month of trial builds heavy and fatiguing patterns. What else? Job insecurity, industrial hostility, minimum rest but a 1.5 hour bus ride to the cheapest hotel, fast food crew meal equivalents. And there's more !

Yeah, I think the good Doctor was is right.

Mind elaborating on the differences CMP is making on your KA patterns? Surely CX 330 patterns will follow suit.

I would postulate that the sickness data the company (any airline) holds would tell an interesting story.

Breach of a duty of care comes to mind...

If the rates for aircrew are found (during discovery) to be higher than general population rates, then airlines may be in a huge pit. Just need English tort and reasonable workplace health and safety legislation...
