Prefered part 66 training school.

Hello Chaps,

I'm currently half way through my Part 66 B1.1 modules and the company I'm currently working for have decided they want me to get a wiggle on and step up.

I've been self studying using the ICAT books and find that they are the best for me to absorb the info.

I've got M3,M4,M5, M7+essays, M9 essay, M10+essay, M11 and M15 to do.

Any suggestions through recent experience on where to go to get this all finished off?

Not hearing good things about LRTT these days. Not a massive fan of their notes either. My preference is Barry College but it's a bit of a trek for me as I'm in Bournemouth. Anybody got experience of Bristol College? Or know of anywhere 2 - 3 hours from B'mouth that has quality training and good notes?

Any outside the box suggestions will be welcome and considered too...

Personally I would give both Bristol and LRTT a miss; as you say there's not much good coming out of either of them. It might be worth it to do the trek to Barry College to avoid the risks of wasted time, out-of-date material and other problems.

https://www.procat.ac.uk/aviation-trainingCaution! It's open to anyone to prove otherwise, but I don't see any sign that they are Approved under Part 147, and you could waste a lot of money there. I would want to check exactly what they mean by There is the possibility to undertake component modules of the B1 Licence on completion of your course. which does NOT say that they offer these examinations; perhaps they just mean you can toddle off to the CAA and sit their exams.

What's more I don't see anything which says that they teach the EASA Part 66 syllabus, no more and no less.

And where are the "apprenticeships"?

Maybe it's all bona fide and so on. But you should be very careful indeed to check it all out. Their website gives me no confidence at all.
