Port and Starboard?

Is there a set for the 747 pilots?

So the captain gets Port Outer and Port Inner, and the co gets Starboard Inner and Starboard Outer.

So the captain gets Port Outer and Port Inner, and the co gets Starboard Inner and Starboard Outer.

That will get confusing once they rotate through their seats with the third/fourth pilot.

Do Trident, TriStar and 727 pilots get a tie clip?

These should suit someone still in the right-hand seat:

Do Trident, TriStar and 727 pilots get a tie clip? No, they don't; they get a matching Prince Albert/Princess Christina according to self-identification.

Trident 3B pilots got a tie clip and a Prince Albert. The latter was only used on special occasions.

Rear gunner, is that a euphemism?

A certain Shackleton Squadron commander in the 60s (R** W******s) insisted that sightings from the aircraft be reported as Red 30 or Green 150, rather than 1 o'clock or 7 o'clock. People on his crew took to putting red and green markings on the back of their flying gloves. Had to remember to fold their arms when in the tail cone.
That confusing enough for you?

I remember a Flt. Eng. being asked by the Captain why he wore white silk gloves when he handled the throttles. Well, he replied, if we get an engine failure just before V.1 I want to know which two bloody hands are mine !

......in response to his captain saying "FFS co use the clock code", replied "3 bells in the forenoon watch" (or some such nauticalism)??

Could it have been a certain o****s???

I feel we should be told.

...... I think it was umjo of fiddle playing fame. Bright cold and gin clear up here in Morayshire. An afternoon by the log burner is calling before dinner.
Give our best to Madame and enjoy Christmas.
