Bonway, in the 67 years I've been on this earth airlines have come and gone with regular frequency. Always sad but it's a fickle business.

I have absolutely no doubt that the money people behind it will not be left short...
'Screw the employees' is what they'll say behind closed doors.
They always do.... But I stand to be corrected.

No, I think you have that exactly right.

Been there, lost the T shirt.

Oh dear. I do not have to relive the nightmares of their engineering policy again. Shame for the employees mind.

Nothing to do with the fact as a Swiss (Non EU)regional operator they could not operate routes in other countries around them? I know another regional operator that will have the same problems in 2019 :(

Is Adria Swiss?

Etihad ditched Darwin and Adria picked up the pieces which they now cannot get to work. Adria Switzerland is probably a different AOC and legal entity than Adria in Slowenia.

Switzerland has bilateral agreements with the EU on many topics including aviation. In most cases, and it certainly applies to aviation, the agreement essentially requires CH to put in place all of the rules applicable to EU member States.....in return for access to the EU market.

Actually the exchange of rights with the EU gives Swiss/EU airlines 3rd/4th/5th freedom rights. Not 7th/8th (cabotage) or 9th (stand alone cabotage).

Anyone know what's happening to the Saab 2000s, think there were six of those?

Regarding the Saabs, it seems that the plan of the Adria Airways' management is to incorporate those Saabs into its fleet since Darwin was Adria's sister company. I'm not sure if this is feasible, since Darwin has gone bankrupt (and you probably cannot just move property of a bankrupt company at your will). They are parked at the Ljubljana airport and they are maintained regularly.

Yes, it officially went bankrupt. Some of the cabin crew has already been taken by Adria Airways.
