View Full Version : JAA TO EASA LICENSE

Hi all,

I hope somebody can help me out. Situation is as follows:

Completed my FAA to JAA conversion (CPL ME IR) in 2009 at Egnatia Aviation (Greece).

In 2010 I completed my proficiency check with a flight school in Belgium, it was signed off on my license.

Have been flying using my FAA license since and have not done a prof check for my JAA/EASA in years. I am coming up on my deadline to renew my ME IR, don't want to lose my ATPL credits. :E

The flight school, where I want to do the proficiency check, informed me I have an 'old' JAR license from Greece and that they are not sure if I can renew this license to an EASA license. Apparently some country have already declared that expired JAR licence cannot longer be used.

For Belgium the limit date is in April 2018 but I have no idea for Greece.

I will be contacting the HCAA soon, but since it's weekend they won't answer the phone.

Does anybody have any information regarding the above?

Thanks!
