I've recently experienced a bit of heartburn (probably that dodgy curry!), but being a bit of a hypochrondriac, I scanned the internet for my symptoms and came across............ulcers!

Now, I don't believe I've got an ulcer, but it set me thinking about medicals. If I were diagnosed with an ulcer (say duodenal) which apparently is easily treated, can I still fly under my PPL medical?

undertheweather,

Don't worry. Go and see your GP. Mild, or even severe, heartburn is unbelievably common and duodenal ulcers are very rare nowadays. Treatments for heartburn, ulcers and what-have-you are incredibly effective and the effect on your medical -- after you've told the AME what has been prescribed -- will almost certainly be minimal.
