A genuine hero. I have always admired his courage just for being there in the first place. SAR professionals are usually out there when many of us are home or in a nice safe place. I am glad that the media have honoured Billy by remembering he gave his life to save others.

Also glad to see lessons were learned and adjustments made to SAR equipment: dual winch, two way coms, etc

But the end of the winch wire is still the most hazardous place to work in a SAR crew. All winchmen/women have my greatest respect.
