View Full Version : Boeing 787 ND VOR Mode.

I do flight simming in PC with FSX. Recently I installed Qualitywings 787.

In other Boeing airplanes, the ND can be set to VOR mode so that I can see a selected radial and deviation from the selected radial if VOR frequency and course are inserted in FMC NAV RAD page. In 777 ND MAP mode the selected radial can also be seen as a green dashed straight line. But in 787 there is no such ND mode, only MAP and PLAN, not the green dashed straight line in the MAP. So how can I see VOR deviation display in the ND?

Thanks for your time.

I'm afraid you cannot see it in the 787. My guess would be that they expect non-precision approaches such as VOR ones to be flown using IAN, LNAV/VNAV (and why would you not?) so it's not necessary to have deviation shown on the ND as the scales are on the PFD and HUD.

Dear Fly3:
Thank you so much for your reply.
Sometimes ATC directs after departure to follow a VOR radial outbound until further clearance. How do 787 pilots handle that?
