I have recently tried sending an email to my local NHS medical practice and it was rejected.
Today, I tried sending one to the local hospital, using the email address provided on their web site and this too bounced with a message saying:
Recipient address rejected: ERS-RBL
Does anybody else have experience of this? Is the NHS email system that bad?

Either the IP address you currently have assigned from your ISP (if you have a dynamic address) has been sending spam or your mail server has been.

If you don't have a dynamic IP address you might have malware. If it's your ISP's mail server I'd imagine they'll be on to it soon enough.

Try your IP address here:

Many thanks for the reply. It does indeed come up with a "bad" reputation. I don't seem to have any malware.
Cheers

Is it a dynamic or fixed IP address? No idea what the half life of a bad reputation is - hopefully not too long.
