Buying In dubai

Hello all, we are evaluating a purchase of a used aircraft in Dubai.
The only problem is they will change the registration from "a6" to N only after the purchase is made.
My concern is if it is safe that I will be able to do the de registration. I mean i can put it in terms of agreement but will never know until I pay.
Advices welcome!

I concur... A6 is generally very well policed and the aircraft well looked after. BUT, get yourself a good lawyer and a good PPI.

As stated a proper pre purchase inspection should negate any risk.

Spend the money get a specialist to help you, save a headache.

Good luck but can I just issue words of caution.
I once had occasion to lock horns over a contract in DXB involving a property transaction.
By any measure I was being shafted by a local who quite openly acknowledged that......
It was a clear cut case.
However having found lawyers willing to represent me who agreed I was right....I was told in the clearest terms that I would lose....because foreigners challenging an Emiraty invariably do... ( something about family connections with the judiciary)
So.....be very, very , very careful. You are dealing with a tin pot third world country masquerading in the guise of something rather grander when it comes to legal as indeed with human, rights.

Best case is to relocate the aircraft outside of the UAE for the pre purchase - export-import-re register-sales process. Naturally, some are reluctant to do this, but I have done it on several transactions. The entire process including transfer to the N registry can also be completed entirely in the UAE.

Bizjetlover, does the aircraft you are looking have an FAA TC? IF the TC is EASA then you will not be able to transfer directly on to the N reg (as that would first require undergoing an expensive SB to make the changes to conform to FAA TC).

If the aircraft originally had an EASA TC then do not deregister as you will be left with a stateless aircraft and will need to first put the aircraft on to an EASA reg and then fly to a service centre to get the SB work complied with. That would involve flying out an airworthiness inspector from an EASA state and all the associated costs that come with the flights/hotels etc...
