Basing positions in NZ will be available next year.

Applicants will have to pass an interview process and then await course dates throughout the year. Positions will be available in AKL on the A321. Other cities are available for those pilots who elect a B787 Course.

Air NZ is a well managed, highly profitable airline with a quality product.

Financial results have been so good, thanks to our marketing, product, low fuel costs, no cargo price fixing fines and good labour relations, that we have paid bonuses to all staff, even though we don't have a profit sharing scheme.

Interviews are in Jan and Feb 2018. Two CX Captains have interviews lined up. More to follow.

The right of abode and the right of work in NZ could be a problem, especially with the new government in NZ. Enough Kiwi pilots in CX to fill all vacancies, perhaps?

That cartoon was in the SCMP?

Well, well, well....never thought I’d see something like that in the South China...do you think that as things begin to unravel that certain people might be starting to get nervous?

Nope.

You're in a world where no one of decision making consequence can admit to being wrong. Even if being wrong is right. Or can make meaningful steering recommendations to the man at the rudder if they perceive he is more important than them on the hierarchal chain. Or even in a different department of equal hierarchal weight.

It would demand an epiphany which has long been obvious to most everyone here. But one that is unlikely to happen.

The vision is the vision -- that of hiring cheap can't say no button pushers without housing on C scale -- and that they'll stay. That's what "time to win" is all about and nothing will change it. In some ways the whole situation is kinda like a self-licking ice cream cone.

Sorry.

OK, I'll bite...
Q1 and 2: For the time being: good and good,
Q3: Not a chance!

For what it’s worth commands over the next couple of years are likely to go to guys who have been in the company less than 10 years

AKL is fast becoming one of the more expensive cities in the world to live.
